College to appeal gays court victory
DURHAM, N.H. — The University of New Hampshire trustees voted Saturday to appeal a federal court decisión ordering the school administration to stop initing activities of a homosexual student organization.
The decision granted the Gay Students Organization of the Durham campus a permanent injunction
against limits upon the
club's social functions unless there was a clear violation of the law or a threatened disruption of school activities.
The court ruling was handed down last week by U.S. District Court Judge Hugh Bownes, who declared the limits were unconstitutional.
